 wallSTONE RANGE
Nearly half of residential British bathrooms have plaster boards on one or more of the walls. This is due to the renovation & restoration work done almost every time ownership changes hand. Because of the weight that plaster board can carry, they may not normally be suitable for heavy porcelain or natural stone tiles. By building regulations, lasterboards that have not been skim-coated with a finish coat of plaster will carry tiles, adhesives and grouts that weigh no more than 32kg/m2 approximately. Therefore, this rules out nearly all natural stone tiles with the thickness of 12 mm in tiling on them. Most stone tiles, like travertine honed & filled, which is the most popular tile in the market at the moment, are 12 mm thick and will weigh about 31 kg/m2 without taking into account adhesives and grouts when tiled on the wall. Generally speaking, adhesives and grouts will also weight about 7 kg/m2, therefore, when laid on plaster boards, the total weight will come to 38 kg/m2, exceeding the limit by about 6 kg per square metre. This presents a problem.
To overcome this problem, IONIC STONE is launching a new product range called wallSTONE. This tiles come with popular wall sizes and the thickness is 10 mm to stay within the weight limit of plaster boards. The tiles weigh about 25 kg per sqm. This range also includes the most popular honed & filled travertine with sizes that can be used together to create modular designs in bathrooms. The products are:

Lydia Classico Travertine Honed & Filled
Fossil Travertine Brushed
